Goals:
- Review podcasts that are submitted by either the podcaster or fans of a show.
- Provide honest feedback and constructive criticism.
- Be a profitable podcast while strengthening our credibility within the podcasting community.
- Participate with other content providers.
- Offer a recognizable image web badge for podcasts which have been reviewed.
Quotes from Daniel in the press:
Daniel Sellers, the show’s producer and director as well as one of the hosts says, “The reality is that many podcasts are no longer producing new content. Either podcasters did not “get-rich-quick” like they had been told or become discouraged due to the lack of feedback. The reason we have so many podcasts that are still active is because we require the show to produce at least ten episodes before we commit to a review. Additionally, we hope the feedback we provide allows the independent podcaster to feel as though he is not alone.”
Monetizing for Podcasters:
Podcasters need to understand that quality service and performance can not be had for free. Many podcasts start out strong but soon begin to flounder. Those who may be offended at having to pay for quality hosting may need to question how much (personally and financially) they are willing to invest. We as podcasters need a sound business model to make the quantity of money in order to invest in professional services. Companies that have been luring hobbyist with a “Free” flag will follow in the demise of services such as Podango. It is only going to get worse regarding web hosting for podcasters.
