Long Distance Relationship

Category: Music

Long Distance Relationship is a weekly conversation between two friends. One is a married man from Washington, and the other is his best friend and partying bachelor from San Francisco. Movies, music, sports, comic books, and their lives are the usual topics of conversation. Occasionally, music and sound effects are inserted. The intro song is creative and funny. Basically, listening to Long Distance Relationship is like listening passively to a phone call between two friends. After listening to several episodes, a vital question became apparent: What’s in it for the listeners of this podcast? Attempts must be made to reach out to listeners and provide a participatory environment for people to be interested in the show. Our final recommendation is to consolidate the length of the episodes.

The Jamhole

Category: Comedy

The Jamhole is a podcast led by hosts Mat and Danni. Former host Brayden was in the first vast selection of episodes, but Danni has since taken over. The podcast is well promoted and features live interactive elements in the form of a chat-room. The hosts listen to and support other podcasts as well. The Jamhole is incredibly consistent and publishes new episodes at a break-neck pace. With all this said, we were overwhelmed by the sometimes two-hour long episodes. The length of episodes was not the only surprise. The content discussed is of a demented and depraved nature. Shows were littered with an excessive amount of harsh language and nauseating material. We simply could not get passed the content.

The Ceiling Fan

Category: Comedy

The Ceiling Fan is an “Adventures In Odyssey” fan podcast. “Adventures in Odyssey” is a popular Christian-themed radio show for kids created by Focus on the Family. This fan podcast is unique because the host, Ethan Daniels, is actually a character himself. The voice behind “Ethan” is Kevin McCreary. Ethan discusses news and voice actors from Odyssey. Kevin sometimes plays himself on the show, and is a great voice actor is his own right. The sound production including vocals, sound effects, and ambient noise is incredibly professional. The Ceiling Fan also manages to provide a convincing environment and give character-driven playful stories. This was a fun one to which to listen.

  • I just have to say that Im a fan of the Jamhole. I appreciate opposing opinions but you left out a valuable in your review. If you find the topics to be depraved, and yet theyre speaking about aspects of society, then isnt the depraved nature of the content a reflection of society itself? I say that is a valuable point because the longer the evil and corrupt issues are ignored the more irreversible thier effects become. The jamhole will tackle any subject important to thier fans and thats what people need. Thank you for your time.
