Introduction Provided By:
Taste Like Burning
Category: Comedy
Tastes Like Burning is described as “two guys commenting about life.” In each one hour episode, hosts James and Tim give their personal stories, which often lead to tangents. Listeners are able to hear the podcast but are rarely able to participate. Other than reading the occasional listener email, little time is dedicated to “bringing in” the listener. As we have before, we ask why strangers would listen to Tastes Like Burning? James and Tim can tell stories well, but there are hundreds of other podcasts that do the same. Perhaps the one thing that does differentiate this show is that the hosts are gay. This does give the stories told a unique perspective from those told in other podcasts we have reviewed.

The Happy Hour Lounge
Category: Music
Andrew and Jeremy head up the eclectic mix of “cocktail” tunes offered by The Happy Hour Lounge. The genre of music can also be described as “the classics” such as Sinatra and Ann Margaret. The hosts have a nice balance of conversing with one another and playing music. Also, Andrew and Jeremy are skilled at keeping the mood light while informing listeners about the musicians or bands being played. The Happy Hour Lounge offers the “Drink Segment of the Week.” These alcoholic beverages are normally a speciality of mixed drinks. Detailed ingredients and directions to make the beverages are included. This show is a nice, relaxing way to spend an hour.

Cross Driven Radio
Category: Music
Cross Driven Radio is hosted by Charley Hays and targets the Christian audience in the world of podcasting. Episodes consist mostly of Christian music along with interviews of members from organizations that Charley finds interesting. Earlier episodes revealed that Cross Driven Radio was looking for its niche and target audience. More recent episodes indicate the podcast has a clearer focus and direction toward Christian music. Charley continues to tighten production including audio quality while improving the pace of the podcast. Cross Driven Radio had a rough start, but we believe it is now worth a listen for those looking for another source of Christian music.
