Startup BizCast offers weekly small business advice, tips, and education. Startup BizCast is devoted to small businesses, but much of the advice and topics mentioned are applicable to larger corporations. Additionally, the advice discussed usually does not require large amounts of money to carry out, which is certainly a benefit. The show is well produced with smooth transitions offering often unnoticeable shifts between topics. The quality of the sound and vocal dynamics is the exception and not the norm, which is very nice for listeners. Steve Mullen’s approach is amiable while striking the balance of being authoritative too. Guests on Startup BizCast are credible, and Steve does a good job of asking the correct questions as an interviewer.

Steve Scott is the host of Late Night Cocoa. Do not be fooled by the name of the podcast. This is not a show about cuddling up with a warm drink while conversing about random late night topics. Late Night Cocoa is meant for the few and the proud: specifically, Cocoa Mac developers. In order to enjoy the podcast you must understand the terminology and be comfortable with programming on Apple’s platform. If listeners do not have this understanding, they will be swallowed by the complexity of the content. This is actually a complement to the host as it shows that he is very knowledgeable. An important weakness to note is how guests of Late Night Cocoa are often introduced and then left to fend for themselves. Scotty’s interviewing style and skill were very hands-off too.

Judson and Lynn Voss are the witty and easy-to-listen-to hosts of Get Real Real Estate Investing. In a show format such as this, it is crucial that the hosts work well with each other; that’s not a problem here. This couple makes the topic of real estate relatable and informative to listeners unfamiliar with the industry. They are honest about mistakes they have made and things of which they are unsure. Judson and Lynn have a playful chemistry that allows the podcast to work. Both are sly and sarcastic, frequently making references to “inside” jokes that make you feel part of the club. Lynn is more calculated and Judson seems more loose. However, both are careful with their advice. When giving their opinions, the two hosts usually prelude them with a disclaimer. This is a very beneficial show for anyone interested in making money in the real estate market.
