This is a weekly podcast that covers the world of Linux and Open Source. The hosts provide a lot of energy and enthusiasm. At times either hosts will get lost on their tangents which can lose some listeners. However, the balance from one another will usually keep this from occurring too much. The Linux Action Show is serving a much needed niche in it’s focus on Linux news and distributions. The sound fidelity is consistent and pleasing however the show could use some new sound bumpers between each transition.
Rating:

This show is fun and easy to listen to. The hosts discuss technical gadgets and make things simple for people not as tech-savvy. Their voices are well-trained, and they know about which they speak. On the technical side, the show is very well done with minor blemishes in the sound. There is a slight distortion and a strong hiss in the background.
Rating:

This show covers Apple-related news. The hosts are well-informed. They also rant quite a bit and seemingly counter themselves sometimes. The show lacks smooth transitions. Technically, the sound is not bad, although the microphone could use a pop-filter. It is conveniently released in an enhanced AAC version divided into chapters with artwork, and episodes get a good description. We rate The MacCore two-and-a-half-out-of-five stars.
